The Grace Prep basketball teams wrapped up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedules on Wednesday night as the high school boys hosted The Highlands School-Irving. With the 61-34 victory, which included four 3-pointers by junior Trey Jordan and 22 points from senior Jordan Phillips, the varsity boys now sit at 15-4 on the season. The junior varsity moved its record to 5-3 with Wednesday’s 79-34 win. The high school girls have won three of their last four games to push their season mark to 5-8.
The three junior high teams completed their pre-holiday schedules last weekend as they hosted the first-ever Grace Prep Junior High Tournament. The boys’ A team fell to Grapevine Faith in the championship game, but have posted a 9-2 season record. The B team dropped a pair of games during the tournament. The junior high girls captured the consolation championship after reeling off a trio of victories, including a thrilling triple overtime win over Fort Worth Christian 8th to get to the championship.
The varsity boys will next take on Duncanville in the Dallas ISD Holiday Invitational on Wednesday, December 27 at Davis Field House in Dallas. The varsity girls will matchup against Dallas Lutheran on Thursday, December 28 as the Lady Lions host the 8-team Grace Prep Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament (December 28-29). All three junior high teams will be back in action at home on Friday, January 5 versus Pantego.
