Five Seniors Ink Letters of Intent

Grace Prep seniors Addi Durand, Tucker Franklin, Sophie Jordan, Seth Prather and Savanna Stevens signed Letters of Intent to continue their athletic pursuits at the collegiate level on Wednesday afternoon.
Addi Durand will head to the Ouachita Baptist University in the fall as a member of the track team. The Tigers are part of NCAA Division II and members of the Great American Conference. Durand, who plans to major in Kinesiology, was a three-event state qualifier as a junior, including district and regional wins in the 800m and 4x200m relay. She also earned TAPPS Academic All-State honors for track last spring. Additionally, Durand played basketball and ran cross country at Grace Prep where she was a two-time TAPPS First Team All-State and Academic All-State honoree.
Tucker Franklin will compete next year for Dallas Baptist University and its track team. The Patriots are a members of the Lone Star Conference and NCAA Division II. During high school, Franklin has been a TAPPS 4A state qualifier in both the 800m and 4x400m relay. Last season, he also earned TAPPS Academic All-State honors. In addition, Franklin was a member of the cross country team the last four years. He plans to major in Business.
Sophie Jordan will play soccer for the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University. Located in Shawnee, Oklahoma, OBU is NCAA Division II and a member of the Great American Conference. Jordan currently plays soccer for Americas FC 06. During high school, she has been a member of the Grace Prep basketball, cross country and track teams. Jordan has been a four-time state qualifier in track, and earned TAPPS Academic All-State for both basketball and track as a junior. She plans to major in Kinesiology.
Seth Prather will cast his line for the Drury University Bass Fishing team in the fall. Located in Springfield, Missouri, the Panthers compete in both the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) and Major League Fishing. Prather fishes with Midlothian Fishing and last spring he and his partner finished second out of 227 high school teams. He plans to major in Business.
Savanna Stevens will take the court next year for Houston Christian University Volleyball. The Huskies are NCAA Division I and members of the Southland Conference. Stevens garnered numerous volleyball accolades during high school including four-time TAPPS All-District First Team as well as Co-Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, two-time TAPPS Academic All-State and TAPPS 4A State All-Tournament Team. She was also part of back-to-back TAPPS 4A State Champions her junior and senior seasons. Additionally, Stevens, who plans to major in Business, played golf while in high school.
