Four Lions Ink Letters to Continue Athletic Careers

Four Grace Prep seniors marked the next step in their athletic and academic careers as they inked letters of intent to play in college on Monday afternoon. Volleyball was represented by Courtnie Crayton and Bonnie Davis, while Landon Jones and Jake Smith will continue their pursuits on the baseball diamond.

Crayton, a multi-time TAPPS 4A volleyball all-state and all-district Setter of the Year, will attend Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie. The Lions are a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference (NAIA).

Davis, who has been named to two TAPPS 4A all-state tournament teams in addition to earning all-state and all-district honors, and academic all-state accolades, will compete in Beach Volleyball at UCLA. The Bruins are a member of the Pac-12 (NCAA Division I).

Jones, who has earned TAPPS baseball all-district, and academic all-state accolades as well as district Freshman of the Year honors, will join the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. SAU is a member of the Great American Conference (NCAA Division II).

Smith, who has been named to both all-district and academic all-state for TAPPS, will pitch for the Cavaliers of Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. JCCC is a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (NJCAA).

Congratulations to these student-athletes and their families!

Landon Jones will play baseball at Southern Arkansas University.

Jake Smith is going to pitch at Johnson County Community College (KS).
