This Week in Advising
🎓 Senior College Planning Reminders
Seniors, as admission decisions roll in and financial aid opens, here are some important next steps to keep you moving forward in the college process!
📌Enrollment Deposits:
Admitted to a college already? Many schools allow you to submit an enrollment deposit to secure your spot and unlock housing and orientation registration. Some colleges offer deposit waivers or deferrals for students with financial need. Check with each school for details. Many deposits are refundable until May 1, but always verify with the specific college to confirm!
📅 Orientation & 🏠 Housing:
Most colleges open orientation registration and housing applications in early spring after the enrollment deposit is submitted. Room assignments are typically based on when you complete your housing application and your roommate preferences. Priority housing deadlines often arrive quickly, so keep an eye on each school’s timeline.
🎓 Scholarship Deadlines:
Many colleges have priority scholarship deadlines in late January or early February. Make sure all application materials—essays, resumes, and supplements—are submitted on time.
