Elementary Parent Partnership
Strengthening Parent Partnership from Day One
One of the things we value most at Grace Prep is the partnership we share with our families. Over the past year, we have listened carefully to your feedback, and one theme rose to the top: many families wanted a more intentional opportunity to connect with their child’s teacher before the school year begins.
We’re excited to make that happen! : )
This year, rather than hosting one Elementary Parent Summit day, each family will schedule an individual Beginning of Year Parent Partnership Conference with their child’s teacher. Our hope is that these conversations will help us begin the year with a shared understanding of your child, your hopes and goals for the year, and any important information that will help us best support them from day one. The teachers will send out sign ups for these conferences in July once the BAND pages are up and running for the new year.
To help make the most of your time together, your child’s teacher will send you:
- Their grade-level syllabus
- An overview of the year’s learning and expectations
- A guide with conversation topics and questions so you can come prepared for a meaningful discussion.
These conferences become the first of our three intentional parent conferences throughout the school year:
- August: Beginning of the Year Parent Partnership Conference
- December: Middle of Year Check-In Conference
- April: End of Year Growth and Celebration Conference
Together, these three touchpoints create a consistent rhythm of communication, celebration, reflection, and goal setting throughout the year.
Schoolwide Information Sessions
While your conference time will focus specifically on your child, we know that many families, especially those who are new to Grace Prep, also appreciate time to learn more about how elementary school works as a whole.
Mrs. Chase will host informal schoolwide information sessions to answer your big-picture questions about elementary life, our University-Model schedule, routines, communication, and what to expect throughout the year.
These sessions will be offered during times many of you are already planning to be on campus:
- New Family Pop-Up
- Back to Grace
- Your grade-level conference days
To help us plan, we will add a link soon to let us know which session you plan to attend. We look forward to connecting with you!
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with your family and can’t wait to see what God has in store for this school year. We believe these intentional conversations will help us begin the year with clarity, connection, and a shared commitment to helping each student flourish academically, spiritually, and personally as they grow to become more like Christ with Heart, Humility, and Honor.
