Progress Report Time!

Today you received a link to your student’s progress report. Now what?

Take time to review the progress report with your student. Are there any surprises, questions, or concerns? We are at mid-quarter and now is a great time to talk about how things are going in class. Is your student uncertain about why they are struggling? The best next step is to contact their teacher. Your student’s teacher can provide insight into where the struggle might be.

This is also a great opportunity to encourage your student’s growth mindset. A progress report is just that—a report on progress, not a final outcome. Help your student reflect on what is working, identify where adjustments may be needed, and make a plan for moving forward. Small changes in effort, habits, organization, or willingness to ask for help can make a meaningful difference over the remainder of the quarter.
