Four Seniors to Continue Athletic Careers

Grace Prep seniors Megan Bachli, Henley Gentry, Phallon Jones and Claire Occkiogrosso will continue their athletic pursuits at the collegiate level.

Megan Bachli will compete at Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall as a member of the volleyball team. Located in Boston, the Leopards are a members of the Conference of New England and NCAA Division III. Bachli, who plans to major in mechanical engineering, was a member of the two-time TAPPS 4A state champion volleyball team at Grace Prep. She garnered academic all-state, all-tournament team and all-district honors following her junior season.

Henley Gentry will play volleyball next year for the Covenant College. Located in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, the Scots are members of the Collegiate Conference of the South and NCAA Division III. At Grace Prep for two years, Gentry was part of last season’s 4A state championship volleyball squad, earning first team all-state and all-district honors as well as academic all-state and 4A District 1 Defensive Player of the Year. She plans to major in psychology.

Phallon Jones will head to Louisiana to compete for the track team at Grambling State University. The Tigers are members of the NCAA and the Southwestern Athletic Conference. While at Grace Prep, Jones has run track and been a member of the cheer squad. She plans to major in biology.

Claire Occkiogrosso will be back on the volleyball court next fall for Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. The Bulldogs are members of the Great American Conference and the NCAA Division II. Occkiogrosso earned all-state tournament and all-district honors as junior and was a member of the 2022 and 2023 TAPPS 4A state championship teams. She plans to major in nursing.
