Math Lab: A Place to Grow

We love seeing students show up for Math Lab! It’s a great place to get extra help, work alongside friends, and build confidence in math. To help it stay a place where every student can focus and thrive, here’s what we’re asking of our Lions.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Math Lab meets after school on MWF. Students should come ready with math work to tackle. Once they’re settled in, we ask that they stay in the room. A quick bathroom break is always fine, but stepping out to watch athletic practice or spend time in the halls isn’t. When their work is done, students can head to the front lobby to wait for pickup. We ask that they stay put there and not wander the building.

Tuesday, Thursday

Tuesday and Thursday Math Lab is open to our high school students. Since these are elementary school days, we ask that students stay in school uniform and help us model what it looks like to be a Grace Prep Lion for our younger students. This includes athletes heading to practice afterward. Warmups, athletic shorts, and tanks aren’t part of our dress code, so students should plan to change once Math Lab is over and before practice begins. When they arrive, students should drop their phones in the box next to the sign-in sheet. Once their math work is finished, they’re free to head home or on to practice.

Partnering Together

Our goal is for Math Lab to be a helpful, encouraging space for every student who walks in. When expectations aren’t followed, students will be asked to leave for the day, not as a punishment, but so the room can stay focused for everyone. We’d be so grateful if you’d take a few minutes to talk through these expectations with your student at home. Thank you for partnering with us. We’re cheering your students on!
