Summer Reading/Math Coming Soon!

Who really wants to think about summer reading and math as we head into finals week? Probably no one—and that’s okay! Summer should absolutely be a time to rest, recharge, and reconnect as a family. Those three Rs matter.

At the same time, a little intention can go a long way. What if we could blend those three Rs with two more—reading and ‘rithmetic—in ways that feel natural, not forced?

Summer learning doesn’t have to look like school. It can be as simple as:

  • Reading a great book on a road trip or before bed
  • Calculating scores during a game, budgeting for a family outing, or doubling a recipe in the kitchen
  • Exploring interests—sports stats, DIY projects, travel plans—that naturally involve reading and math
  • Visit your local library and let your child explore freely – The main library in central Arlington is amazing!
  • Ask your child for suggestions. Summer reading and math doesn’t have to be a chore!
  • Most importantly, encourage curiosity!

These small, everyday moments help students stay sharp, build confidence, and start the new school year feeling ready rather than rusty.

Grace Prep Secondary Summer Reading and Math information is coming soon. We hope it will be a helpful resource that supports learning while still allowing your family to enjoy a restful, meaningful summer together.
