Field Day Pivot

Field Day is ON for tomorrow! : )

The Decision: We have been working hard to pivot to make it all fit before the possible rain tomorrow so we can still have Field Day. We know that postponing is not optimal, and we want to honor your time as we know many of you have already taken the day off.

We have moved up the start time and adjusted the outside games for 7 stations to hopefully get the outside things in before the rain might come. Then we will move the fun inside.

The Plan: We will be starting at 8:15. Your students will go in straight to their classrooms when the doors open at 7:45. They will put up their things while we get everything ready to go.

They will come out at 8:15 so we can have the kickoff, give instructions, and start the games by 8:30. The Field Day activities will conclude by 1. Here is the new schedule.

The Basics:
8:15 – Kick-off and Instructions
8:30 – 10:45 – Outside Stations
10:45 – 11:30 – Move Inside and Change Clothes
11:30 – 1:00 – Lunch – Lava Lamp Champs/Tug of War
At this point, our field day activities will be concluded.

For the rest of the afternoon, we will do an assortment of fun activities, games, movies, etc.

Parking: We are closing the parking lot for the field day fun again. After drop off, you can head outside the gate to park or use the church parking lot. We will close the gate at 8:15.

Parents: It is your decision if you still want to bring the tents to set up. We are not thinking it will be sunny now, but you just never know. We will be setting those up where we usually have the drive thru drop off – if you want to set yours up.

If you choose to drop off a tent, you can, and then head outside the gate to park or park at the church parking lot.

What Does My Child Need to Bring:

  • Backpack to hold everything
  • A towel or two
  • A set of dry clothes or two (even socks and underwear)
  • A dry pair of shoes (if not wearing crocs or other shows made to get wet)
  • A favorite game

Thank you for being flexible and understanding as we try really hard to make this special day still happen despite the impending weather! : )
