Spring Testing – 8th Grade!

8th Grade Parents!
Your 8th grader will take the PSAT 8/9 during school on Wednesday, April 9. The testing timeframe is 8:50 a.m.—11:30 a.m. After testing, your student will remain in the test area until lunch. After lunch, they will resume their regular class schedule for the remainder of the academic day.
Please plan for your student to be on campus on this day. The PSAT 8/9 is the first test in the SAT Suite of Assessments, and it helps students and parents establish a baseline for their strengths and what skills need more practice. The test is given digitally. Next week, we will be in your student’s classroom to help them register and get ready for their digital test.
How Can You Help?
Encourage your student to do their best. Sometimes, students want to “blow off” a test like this because they believe it doesn’t matter. Actually, it does matter! The PSAT 8/9 will give us another view of where your student is academically. And developing test stamina is a real thing! Your student will likely take an SAT or ACT as part of the college admission process. It is important that they learn to put their best foot forward. Encourage them to knock it out of the park! And, serve them a good breakfast!
Thank you!
